The narratives of the Junior school Education in Immaculate Conception College
The Junior Secondary School of Immaculate Conception College is a place where young boys between the ages 10-13 years (or as the case may be) are moulded by giving them functional and qualitative education in preparation for a conscientious and responsible adult life It is a place where children are motivated to imbibe a life of studiousness and morality. The subjects in the curriculum are taught separately by specialized and experienced teachers. The academic and moral development of each student are strictly monitored by management to ensure that the mission of the school-to produce teenagers who are academically and morally sound is achieved. On getting admission into the school, students are taught from the onset the importance of hard work, self reliance in examination, healthy competition, uprightness, moderation, self-control amongst other virtues in conjunction with our maxim, “I C C students don’t beg they do things right”. The social development of the students is not left out as there is ample time for co-curricular activities like sports, music and dance, with a lot of games made available. At the end of their three years in Junior Secondary School, students are exposed to three main examinations:
1.National Examination Council’s Basic Certificate Examination (BECE);
2.Edo State Ministry of Education’s Junior School Certificate Examination (JSCE);
3.Immaculate Conception College JSS3 Promotional Examination that qualifies them for entry into the Senior Secondary School of the College.
The yearly excellent performance of our students in these examinations and their exemplary character in any society they find themselves attest to the fact that Immaculate Conception College Junior Secondary School is the best place to lay for your boys a strong lasting academic and moral foundation in preparation for a productive and responsible adult life.
